My Background
I started painting in 2017. It wasn't something for which I ever took lessons. I received a paint set for Chrismas one year and one day decided to give it a try. I have been hooked ever since!

I prefer to use acrylic paint, but I also use colored pencils for some projects. I love the fact that I can create my own little world on a blank canvas, and there are no limits to what I can do.

I enjoy hiking in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these hikes in nature. Recreating birds and wildlife in my work is what I love.
Working Together
Occasionally, using wood creations that my brother Nick designs, I bring them to life with the magic of a paint brush and acrylics. He uses a scroll saw, among other things, and creates a lot of what you will see in my portfolio. Anything that is not on canvas is more than likely cut from wood by him.
Details
Some of Nick's creations can be very detailed and others are more simple in design. It is up to me to add color. We don't do a lot of projects together anymore as he is branching out into bigger things.
Helping Hand
When I'm stuck on a particularly hard painting I call on my siblings to give me their opinions. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes looking at the picture or project. My family is a great help suggesting the finishing touches.
